After an extremely gruelling and mentally exhausting session of World Cup qualifiers, League action is back again. And what a way to begin it again! Away at the hostile environment of The Mestalla. Every Barça fans knows that the away trip to Valencia is always a tricky one. Historically, the game at Mestalla has been one of the toughest of the season. Plus add to this the fact that almost all of our starting eleven is coming from all corners of the world after playing 2 games in a matter of 4 days, only adds to the concern.

Kick Off: Saturday, September 26, 19:00 CET
La Rosaleda, Malaga
The fortunes of Barcelona and Malaga could not have been more contrasting coming into Week 5 of La Liga. Malaga has lost their last 3 games. Barcelona on the other hand has swept away the 4 teams before them scoring 14 Goals on the way. La Rosaleda is an arena that will be fondly remembered by Barça from last season because it was there that Pep Guardiola’s side chalked up a convincing 1-4 win to move to the top of the table for the first time. Last November the team ignored the pouring rain and difficult conditions to overwhelm their Andalucian host to move into first place and they remained their for the rest of the campaign.

Matches are coming in thick and fast for the Blaugrana right now! After the demolition of Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou on Saturday night, Barcelona now travel to El Sardinero to face Racing Santander. Racing to their credit were one of the few clubs last year to take points away from Barcelona as they drew 1-1 at home but going down 2-1 after the lead at Camp Nou. Messi that night had come of the bench to grab a brace and win the game for us. Now he would surely be looking for a repeat performance from the weekend when he scored a brace against Atletico.

Kick-off: Saturday, September 19 2009, 22:00 CET
Camp Nou, Barcelona
We all remember the 2 great matches between Barca and Atletico Madrid last year. And how we would want a repeat from Last year’s game at the Nou Camp when Barca thrashed the team from Madrid 6-1. The return match was enthralling too but we ended up losing 3-4 that night at Vicente Calderon when Sergio Aguero scored a last minute winner. But things have changed a lot from that night. Barcelona went on to win the Historic Treble and have got off to a flying start in the La Liga whereas Atletico is struggling hard to find its feet again. They have been out of from for sometime now which might get exposed terribly at the Nou Camp come Saturday night.

The start of the new La Liga season is finally here for Barca. After a long Pre-Season that saw us tour the United States and 2 Cup Finals already that we qualified for thanks to the exploits from last year’s Triplete, The new La Liga season just could not come soon enough for the Blaugrana. A lot of euphoria surrounds the most celebrated club in the world that is also claimed as one of the, if not THE Best Football Club of all time. La Liga, I still believe will be the toughest title to defend this season after the Champions League considering the reinforcements that have arrived at the Madrid Camp with the hundreds of millions of euros that mostly came from the Construction Magnate’s ( Florentino Who Else?) company and associates. Even Sevilla look stronger along with Valencia. Now its time for the Barca Brigade to prove that they indeed are the Best Football Club Of All Time!

Monaco is a UEFA favorite – They meet up there for all Champions League draws, Give away their coveted prizes and also every year, let them host the European Super Cup – A match between The Champions League winners and the UEFA Cup winners. Well it will be the Europa Cup winners from now on. This year sees Barca facing Shaktar Donestk in Monaco in front of 18000 people ( Really really small in comparison to some of the stadiums Barca is used to playing in). The European Super Cup presents itself as the 2nd trophy Barca can pick up this season out of a possible 6! One is already in the bag in form of the Spanish Super Cup.
